Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-01
1. Introduction
JoyX LLC ("JoyX," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and disclose information when you visit our website at joyx.io or use any of our products and services. By accessing our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
Public Website: The JoyX public portal at joyx.io does not collect personal information from visitors. We do not use contact forms, analytics trackers, advertising pixels, or third-party tracking scripts. The only browser storage used is localStorage for saving your theme preference (light/dark) and language selection (English/Chinese), which stays entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
Workspace Products: When you are granted access to a JoyX workspace, we may collect information necessary to provide the service, including: your name, email address, and organization details provided during workspace setup; usage data within the workspace to maintain service quality; and technical logs required for security monitoring and incident response. The specific data collected varies by product and is documented in the workspace agreement.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected information solely for the following purposes: to provide, maintain, and improve our products and services; to communicate with workspace clients about their accounts, updates, and support requests; to detect, prevent, and address security incidents and technical issues; to comply with legal obligations; and to enforce our Terms of Service and workspace agreements. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.
4. Data Storage and Security
JoyX follows a local-first product philosophy. Where possible, data is processed and stored locally on the user's device rather than on remote servers. For workspace products that require server-side processing, data is stored in secured infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. Access to production data is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis. We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption, access logging, and regular security reviews.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
JoyX does not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances: with service providers who assist in operating our infrastructure, subject to confidentiality obligations; when required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to protect the rights, property, or safety of JoyX, our users, or the public; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case you will be notified of any change in data handling.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including satisfying legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. For workspace clients, data retention periods are specified in the workspace agreement. When data is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or anonymized. Public website visitor data is not retained because it is not collected.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information: the right to access the personal information we hold about you; the right to request correction of inaccurate information; the right to request deletion of your personal information; the right to restrict or object to processing of your information; the right to data portability; and the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@joyx.io. We will respond to your request within 30 days or as required by applicable law.
8. International Data Transfers
JoyX is based in the United States. If you access our services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our infrastructure providers maintain facilities. We take appropriate measures to ensure that international transfers comply with applicable data protection laws.
9. Children's Privacy
JoyX services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us at contact@joyx.io.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, for workspace clients, provide direct notification. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
11. Contact
